Study Design 


To investigate differences between the wild type MA15 and nsp16 mutant virus.

Overview of Experiment:

  • Groups of 20 week old C57BL6 mice will be infected MA15 or nsp16 at a dose of 10^5 PFU or mock infected. 
  • Mice will be euthanized on 1, 2, 4, and 7 days post-infection to measure virus load and isolate samples for measurement of virus load, lung pathology, transcriptional and proteomics analysis. 
  • Mock infected animals will also be harvested at each time point. 
  • Mice will be weighed every 24 hours to measure general disease progression and any mouse approaching 30% weight loss will be euthanized.


The decision was made to only do 4 replicates of the infected samples and 3 from the time matched mock. Here are the samples that were used for the arrays.
